If you want to come to Aachen, here is some practical information...
AccomodationFor accomodation, please send an e-mail message to Tina to announce how many people are coming, expected date and time of your arrival and departure. If you are arriving on Wednesday, please register at the AZ (Autonomes Zentrum), Vereinsstraße 25 (near central station). Group accomodation will be available, also some individual places. If possible, please bring a sleeping bag and roll with you.
Borders
Aachen center is ca. 4,5 km away from the Dutch border and 7 km from the Belgian border. ChangesPlease note: The Attac procession will start at Lindenplatz (not St. Jacob’s Church). The Euromayday parade will start at Pontstraße (not Großkölnstraße). DiscussionInfo evening on Wednesday, 19:00h (in time!) with Alex Foti (Euromayday, Radical Europe, Milan), Xavier Renou (Les Désobéissants, Paris), Vera Polycarpou (AKEL, Cyprus), Tobias Pflüger (Militarism Info Center, Tübingen, MEP), Wolfgang Dreßen (AK Rechtsextremismus, FH Düsseldorf)
FoodLe Sabot collective will provide organic and vegan food for little money on Wednesday evening and on Thursday at the Welthaus. Helping hands very welcome.
Independent media centerThe media center and press room is for media acitivists reporting from Euromayday etc. It is located at the office of the student organisation Fachschaft Philosophie (7/1).
InfopointThe infopoint at AZ (Autonomes Zentrum) is open on Wednesday from 16:00h and on Thursday from 8:30h. You will always find a helping person there, even in the evening.
Additionally, you will probably meet people at the Welthaus, where the cooking is located.
Legal TeamWe hope you won’t need it, but for your safety, we have a legal team. Please contact the legal team if you are witness of arrests or irregular police violence or if you need help yourself.
Preparatory meetingIf you have arrived before Thursday, please come to our preparatory meeting on Wednesday, 21:30 at the Welthaus for latest information on what is happening the next day.
Public transportAachen has only busses and trains. You have to show your ticket to the driver when entering a bus. Group tickets for 5 persons cost 6,90 € for one day (Aachen, Vaals, Kelmis/La Calamine). Euregiotickets (Aachen, Liège, Maastricht) are 14,50€ for two adults and up to 3 children under 12 (on Tuesday only valid for one person).
